Interview with CfaN’s European Winner: Stephan Mittelstädt
(Follow Stephan in German)
Stephan, how did you get the idea to participate in “Win a free trip to Africa”
I am a student with ICI and study Evangelism. So when I was browsing the internet looking up that subject you can’t miss CfaN. My eyes fell on the ad and there was a longing in me to also see something like this in my own life.
Did you know CfaN or was this your first encounter with Evangelist Bonnke, Kolenda or the ministry?
Well, I know about the ministry and Evangelist Bonnke for many years, but never had a real connection. When I went to the bibleschool “Beröa” for a sneak-peak around Easter this year, I saw a poster in the hallway which truly caught my attention.
What did you think when you saw that Poster?
Something in my heart started to cry out – this is what I am longing for to see in my own country, Germany as well, how can we get it!
You are a member of the Pentecostal church in Heilbronn, what is your involvement there?
I am working with the youth and also lead a cell group. Working with the young people is my main focus, but it can be frustrating when you don’t see the breakthrough that you want to experience.
So you where kind of frustrated when the call from CfaN came?
When the first phone call came and I heard that I was among the first few and having a real chance to win it was actually the first time I really thought about it. Up to that moment I really didn’t think about it too much, however hope rose in me and I started to get busy with the matter – what if I would really win? When the final answer came I knew that God was in it for me to experience something extraordinary for my life and I was so thankful to CfaN for what they are doing.
What do you actually expect for yourself and – you are taking your co-pastor – for your church and ministry?
First of all I want to see with my own eyes what God is doing in Africa. Second I truly want to be ignited and empowered to also see God move in Germany. My travel companion, Lars, being the co- and youth pastor has the same passion and desire, so I trust God to give us insights and divine experience to learn how to apply it in our own life and ministry.
Lastly, you are married, how does your wife feel about you going to Africa?
She would have of course also loved to come, but we have a Baby and couldn’t find a babysitter for this long time, so she is happy for me to go and supports it with all of her heart.
We will hear more about Stephan and his travel companion throughout their whole trip, but I am sure also from their future ministry.
