24 Hours to Go Until Our African Adventure!

Well, here we are in the final countdown – our first flight leaves about 24 hours from now and we couldn’t be more excited! What better time to get acquainted with the blog and make our first entry. Josh and I have been eagerly awaiting this day for the past two months. I entered our names in the contest many months ago and forgot about it until we received the call telling us we’d been randomly selected as finalists. I began to pray about it immediately and while praying, I sensed Holy Spirit say “if you want it, it’s yours. I will give it to you”. This was pretty neat as I’d never experienced anything like that before and it changed the way I was praying. I started to say, “Lord, I do want it and I am asking You to give it to me”, and I started to thank Him in advance. I was worshipping with my keyboard singing songs of thanksgiving when I received the phone call telling me we had been selected as the winners! My birthday is this month and I am considering this trip a birthday gift from The Lord. Already this experience has brought my relationship with God to a new level and it hasn’t even begun yet! I am so excited to see all He has in store for us in the days to come. The only part I am not looking forward to is that Josh and I will be leaving Elijah, our nine-month old son for the first time. Please pray for me to have peace and to fully enjoy this amazing opportunity, and also for little Elijah who will be staying with his Grammie, Poppie, and Gr-auntie. I am so grateful for this medium to be able to share our fun and everything we see, do, and hear with you all. Thank you so much for your prayers! God is so good!
