We’ll we’ve arrived in Ghana! It’s absolutely amazing. We left Melbourne and we’re picked up at Coolongatta by the lovely Steve and Michelle. From there we began the epic journey to Africa. Roughly 23 hours later on a plane and I think I’ve done enough flying for the rest of my life. It was a great experience but soo long and so tiring. We got off the plane and the heat hit. BAM! Not sure I was totally prepared for it to be that hot, but I’m slowly warming to it. We did our best to stay awake and fight the jet lag so tried some of the culinary delights at the hotel, while getting to know everyone else. It’s been incredible hearing everyone’s story and how God has brought them here, just further demonstrating His awesomeness and how God can make the impossible possible. I can’t wipe the smile from my face thinking about it, I love it here. The people are so lovely and happy. We’ve already experienced some of the real differences from Australia, Dad is a real hit, being a red head – they looked at me then kept saying to him ‘daddy’, ‘you daddy’. It broke my heart seeing the slums and just how people live, but I’ve got to remember too that here they are accustomed to how they live and this is what they’re used to. It also makes me aware of just how blessed we are back in aus.
I think later today we’re off to some local markets and meeting the rest of the team. I can’t wait for the crusade to begin. It’s going to be life changing.
Bless you all. 🙂
